Transportation in surakarta
Adisumarmo international airport has 8 daily flights linking solo to indonesia's capital jakarta. Though the airport mainly handles domestic traffic, the airport currently serves direct flights to kuala lumpur (with air asia and silk air) and singapore (silk air). Alternately, visitors can fly directly to adisucipto international airport, yogyakarta. located just 60 km away from there, solo can be easily reached by road within an hour or so.




People and culture
The javanese are by far the largest of the various social and culture groups making up solo's population, and they can be divided into two traditional social classes. the first is includes by traditional aristocracy, the priyayi, and the second encompasses everyone else. the non-priyayi javanese are generally much closer to their farming roots. The chinese are a third important group and there are also number of smaller ethnic, including emigres from the middle east and india. until today, the court of surakarta hadiningrat managed to maintain much of the ceremony associated with its traditional role, ensuring that it played a central role in javanese cultural identity. surakarta palace continues to strive to find new ways to archieve harmony between change and traditon, one of the main goals of javanese philosophy

Climate
Surakarta is a lowland basin, located in the mountainous slopes of merapi lawu, with a height of approximately 92 meter above sea level. the temperature varies drom 21,9 to 32,5 celcius. the average air pressure is 101.9 MBS with 75% humidity. the wet season rainfall peak is january and the dry season low point is august.
